Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in .doc, .docx, .rtf, or .odt document file format. Please note that the file size must not exceed 2 MB.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in this section.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
  • Please be aware that, due to the increasing popularity of JAEID and the higher quality requirements, only about 10% of papers (with a decreasing trend) are currently retained for publication.

Author Guidelines

Publishing on JAEID is currently free of charge. Authors should submit their papers as editable text files (not .pdf format): preferred formats are .doc, .odt, .rtf. Please observe the following criteria:
Illustrations should be supplied also on separate files, in a form suitable for reproduction without retouching. Illustrations should permit reduction, with lines drawn proportionally thicker and symbols larger than required in the printed version.
Arrangement of paper:
A short title (up to 40 characters including spaces) should be followed by a listing of the author name, affiliation, full postal address, telephone, fax numbers and e-mail. Respective affiliations and address of co-authors should be clearly indicated.
The abstract (up to 20 lines in length) in English (and in the original language of the paper, if French or Spanish).
The keywords (in English) must be limited to 3 or 4 terms.
The main body of text must be suitably divided under headings. Latin expression must be written in Italic.
Bibliographical notes should be included in the text in parentheses with the author's name and the year of publication; should the authors be more than two, the name of the first author must be followed by the abbreviation et al.

For scientific papers: the body text of the paper should be divided into:

1. Introduction,
2. Materials and Methods,
3. Results,
4. Discussion and Conclusions, Acknowledgements if any,
5. References

References should include only the works quoted in the text and should be listed alphabetically at the end of the paper conform to the current journal style.The APA reference standard is recommended.
Footnotes should be indicated in the text by superior Arabic numerals which run consecutively through the paper. They should be grouped together in a section at the end of the text in numerical order.
Tables should be numbered consecutively in Arabic numerals and given a caption. Notes and references within tables should be included with the tables, separately from the main text.
Illustrations. All graphs, diagrams, drawings and photographs (no more than five per article) should be referred as Figures, which should be numbered in Arabic numerals. All illustrations must have captions.
