Gli scritti estimativi di Malacarne nel periodo 1974-1989: un'analisi quantitativa delle citazioni

Published 2009-06-01

Abstract

The paper will commemorate Malacarne on the fifteenth anniversary of his death. We will be considering only seven papers that summarise his 40 years of experience in the elaboration of the appraisal theory. The method of analysis aims at creating connections between the quotations in the different works and the bibliographical data of the RIE (‘Italian Catalogue of Appraisal’). Thus, we found 183 papers and books totalling 438 citations, chronologically ordered from 1569 (Festasio) to 1979. In some tables we also indicate distribution and frequency of the citations, by work, by author and by chronological span. Then we expose the principles of the theory that Malacarne believed to be scientifically proved and some of the cardinal points he added both to improve the theory’s understanding and to be able to apply it in concrete cases. The paper ends with a short discussion on forecasts.
