The method has, as its frame of reference, the characteristics of transparency of the Italian spelling system, which stimulates a phonic-syllabic approach. The first phase to acquire the written code takes into consideration the fact that reading and writing are complex functions composed of multiple subordinate processes: linguistic-metalinguistic-visual-spatial-perceptive and motor skills which have to be optimally developed through a precise and targeted program strictly aimed at results. The approach to the first literacy skills must be systematic in order to allow the progressive building of knowledge and to facilitate the monitoring of the evolution of the process of written language acquisition. I also provide qualitative and quantitative evidence confirming the validity and effectiveness of the teaching methodology.

ER -
