Abstract

This review regards a document, known as the Tractatus pacis toti Christianitati fiendae (1462-1464), drawn up on the initiative of George of Bohemia, the Hussite King. The document proposes the creation of an organization meant to guarantee peace all over the cristianitas and coordinate the war against the Turks. Particularly remarkable is the negligible role given to the Pope and the Emperor in favour of the magnates of the main European naciones, whose sovereignty power is nevertheless limited by the “international” unio envisaged.
