Abstract

The article provides critical and exegetical notes on a fable by Avianus (Fab. 3) and an ana­lysis of its literary models; it also offers observations on the ‘Fortleben’ of Plautus (Pseud. 955), Lucretius (6.24-28) and Phaedrus (5.10 Zago), as well as on the text of Babr. 109, Aphthon. Fab. 11 Hausrath, Lact. Inst. 7.27.6-7.
