The landscape project, as an instrument for anticipating future spatial arrangements of a territory, can help to address the process by integrating infrastructural, touristic and environmental systems in a coherent vision. The article explores this option within the case-study of Pantelleria, emphasizing opportunities and obstacles linked to a scenario-based approach and arguing that a change in the energy production must correspond to a parallel evolution in the ways of generating and interpreting new landscapes. The path towards the island’s self-sufficiency is developed through the proposal for a large-scale “energy ecosystem”, capable of establishing alternative uses of the territory by narrating the dynamic interaction between the elements involved in the transition process: light, air, land and water</p>}, number={2}, journal={Ri-Vista.
