SCOPE
The Italian Journal of Family Education (Rivista Italiana di Educazione Familiare – RIEF) aims to promote rigorous thinking on educational and pedagogical matters, linked to family as an institution. RIEF intends to be a place of critical reflection on the forces and the contextual changes that shape family, and all its subjects, investigating and reflecting on family education, family pedagogical and relational models, parenting practices, and parenting support. These issues are addressed from a multidisciplinary point of view, essentially in a pedagogical perspective, but also taking into account the historical, psychological, philosophical, political, and epistemological dimensions. All this with the main purpose of promoting inquiry and critical reflection on the family, with the aim to identifying and accepting its multiple configurations; to understand their dynamics in depth, without reducing their physiological complexity; to respond to parents’ and children’s need, today; to nourish the pedagogical debate on parenting support and family education with ever new and stimulating food for thought, through the publication of scientifically rigorous papers, coming from academic scholars, but also from experts every day working on the field, in various capacities, with families.
