AH News: presenting our newsletter and our new contact point for authors

2023-01-25

Dear Readers,

As many of you have noticed, Acta Herpetologica recently launched its newsletter, “AH News”. First of all, we wish to apologize for the multiple email sendings occurred on January 11th: they were due to technical issues that have now been fixed.

The main aim of this newsletter is to raise awareness about the activity of Acta Herpetologica, the peer-reviewed journal of the Italian herpetological society (SHI - Societas Herpetologica Italica). Every two weeks, our readers will receive interesting information, data and facts about the activity of the journal. Most importantly, they will get a preview of manuscripts recently accepted for publication, well before the printed version of the journal is available. The newsletter is also aimed at promoting congresses, lectures and other activities organized by the SHI and its members.

In order to implement the newsletter, the Editorial Team of Acta Herpetologica has recently been enlarged. Our new DCS (Digital Communication Strategist) is in charge with the development of new communication channels, including this newsletter and a few social media pages that will be launched in the next few weeks. Please note that a new contact point for authors has been created: any enquiries regarding the state of submitted manuscripts should be addressed to dcs.ah.contact@gmail.com. This is also the email address to contact to share information about upcoming lectures, congresses and events linked with the activity of SHI: the most relevant initiatives will be promoted in the newsletter. Finally, comments, suggestions and enquiries regarding the upcoming digital communication channels are welcome and should be addressed, as well,  to dcs.ah.contact@gmail.com

We hope that our readers will appreciate our new project. In the next newsletter we will be talking about a recent study assessing the impact of Batrachochytrium salamandrivorans on Italian wild salamander populations: see you in two weeks!
