Abstract
Unlike the ancient scholarship about Homer, the scholia in Aristophanes seem to be foreign to the Platonic and Aristotelean discussion about the mimesis: however, these scholia reveal the use of a lexicon that is about this discussion. This fact is perhaps a consequence of the peripatetic origin of Alexandrian scholarship.
