Abstract

In nat. deor. 2.138 the character of Balbus, spokesman for Stoicism, is very cautious in describing excretion: this pudicity, when compared with some passages of the de offi­ciis (treatise in which Cicero depends on Panaetius), can be intended as a mark of the Paneatian presence in the de natura deorum.
