Abstract

The concept of εὐλάβειαin Plutarch: lexical analysis. Plutarch, a man who believes in an­cestral faith, recommends a merciful and cautious respect (εὐλάβεια) as the middle ground between blind belief and excessive mistrust. The term and concept of εὐλάβειαbelong inthe sacred sphere; they define a specific attitude towards godhead, a careful behaviour and a source of stability necessary for the human being.
