Abstract
One of the few citations from classical texts by Theodore of Mopsuestia, which derives from a stoic lexicographer (perhaps Herophilos, an author cited by Origenes), is proved to have been inserted in a Byzantine Collection of geometric definitions (edited by Heiberg) to explain the term ἀρχή.
