Abstract
The paper suggests that the anonymous translation of Xenophon’s Oeconomicus preserved in the ms. Vat. lat. 1069 could be that by Giovanni Aurispa, whose translation is mentioned by a contemporary source but is until now considered as lost. The paper investigates the Greek source of this humanistic translation. Finally, it analyses the entries for Xenophon’s Oeconomicus in the inventory of Aurispa’s books compiled in 1459 and proposes the identification of item 450 with the ms. Modena, Bibl. Estense Universitaria, α.W.9. 11.
