Abstract
In the first line of AP 6.279 (= Euphor. fr. 1 Lightfoot), the reading transmitted by the Suda lexicon (ἔπεξε = “combed”) is generally preferred to the one of ms. P (ἔπλεξε = “wove”). Both the linguistic evidence and some likely intertextual allusions found in later authors (Dionysius Periegetes, Marianus Scholasticus) could lead to a reappraisal of the form ἔπλεξε.
