Abstract
Columella's quotations from Vergil’s work prove a deep assonance with the poet of Georgica, rather than being a mere technical feature. Of course he admires Virgil’s accuracy in technical details, but above all he shows a high consideration toward the poet, whom he feels close to his own sensitivity and literary aim. Columella’s Vergil does not greatly differ from Seneca's, although on a lower level, given the more narrow scope and character of his work.
