Abstract
The five alleged quotations from Festus by Pomponius Laetus, that M. Accame Lanzillotta (“GIF” 11, 1980, 265-299) deems spurious, may rather be genuine, given both Pomponius’ earnest scholarly attitude and the uncertain state of Festus’ transmission.
