Abstract

Comparative analysis of three parallel passages on the influence of παρανατέλλοντα (Astr. 5.57-66 and Math. 8.6.2; Astr. 5.128-139 and Math. 8.6.7; Astr. 5.140-156 and Math. 8.7.1-5) sheds new light on the debated question of the relationship between Manilius’ fifth book and Firmicus, Math. 8.6-17, at the same time being of some use to the textual criticism of both works.
