The Prometheus Bound ascribed to Aeschylus reflects the traumatic transition from the ancient world of aristocratic power to the new concept of power in the age of the Greek city-states. Yet Prometheus, well aware of such transformation, knows that even Zeus almighty’s strength may fade over time.
