Abstract

The longer, still unpublished version of Prochorus’ Acts of John (redaction β) is an important witness to the Medieval reception of Clement of Alexandria’s Quis dives salvetur. Critical edition (based on ms. Vat. gr. 654, 12th century), translation and commentary of the tale of the bandits’ leader, adapted from Quis dives 42.1-15.
