Abstract

The murder of Astyanax at the end of Seneca’s Troades is depicted as a sacrificial rite aiming to delete the magic link between Hector’s family and the walls of Troy. Astyanax’s will to die before the end of his enemies’ prayer is an attempt to invalidate this rite and keep Troy’s spirit alive.
