Abstract

An assessment of the ideology of power in Xenophon’s writings. In addition to the good king, like the elder Cyrus in the Cyropaedia and the younger Cyrus in the first part of the Anabasis, the latter work also provides a sketch of the ideal leader/commander, i.e. Xenophon himself.
