Abstract
The short text on encomiastic technique preserved in Paris. lat. 7530 and edited by Halm, Rhet. Lat. min. 587f., is not medieval: its very close affinity with the corresponding section of Theon’s Progymnasmata (pp. 78-82 Patillon) rather suggests that it comes from a Latin translation of that work produced before 300 AD. A new edition of this fragment is also provided.
