Abstract
Two closely connected texts On the Syntax of the Verbes are investigated. The first, by M. Planudes (the most popular byzantine syntactic Lexicon) can be consulted only in the edition of G. Hermann (1801), who transcribed an incomplete ms; the second, by Const. Armenopulos, ist still unpublished. After an examination of the structure, the tradition and the sources of both Lexica, the paper presents a complete ‘recensio’ of the manuscript tradition of Armenopulos together with a critical edition of its letter A, which shows clearly both the structural dependance from Planudes and the innovations of this Lexicon.
