Abstract
The use of diminutive by the authoress of the Peregrinatio proves her commitment to a literary work: to the common suffix of late spoken Latin cellus, she prefers the more literary -culus; she usually carries diminutives which, by way of their expressive value, were included in the literary language; when she employs new forms, her aim is to obviate the inexpressive character of the words or to describe new realities.
