Abstract
In the passage of Aristotle’s E.N., the verb συναριθμεῖν means “to add” and governs the dative. This construction is different from συναριθμεῖν ἐν τινί, which means “to count” in the sense of including in a series. In Rhet. 1363b, 18-20, the same verb means “to consider”.
