Abstract
Dionysius of Halicarnassus (Thuc. 5) refers to an Amelesagoras from Chalkedon, who probably was a logographer of the V century B.C. He is not to be confused with Amelesagoras of Athens, an exegete who composed a work about places and festivals of Athens in the first centuries of the Roman period. His work may have been entitled “Atthis”, although it had no historical content, but dealt about antiquities.
