Abstract
The author proposes a new interpretation for the Stoic theory of Oikeiosis, in the light of the results of Social Biology. According to his analysis, Stoic Oikeiosis seems to be not just a development of human beeing towards a rational beeing (communis opinio), but a genetic programming of behaviour: therefore, the doctrine of Oikeiosis sets up a cosmo-biological pattern for survival.
