It is suggested to change in Quintus Smyrnaeus Posthomerica 1.95 the difficult phrase νῆας δὲ πυρὸς καθύπερθε βαλέσθαι simply into νῆας δὲ πυρῆς καθύπερθε βαλέσθαι according to a forgotten proposal made by Jakob Theodor Struve: Penthesilea boasts to throw the ships of the Greeks as an additional offering above the funeral pyres of the slaughtered heroes.
