Abstract

This article examines in detail Christos Tsagalis’ recent commentary on the fragments of the archaic genealogical and antiquarian epics. An introduction is followed by several remarks concerning method as well as text-critical, editorial, and exegetical observations on various testimonia and fragments of some of the poets and poems contained in the volume: e.g. Eumelos of Corinth, Asios of Samos, the Minyas, the Carmen Naupactium, etc.
