Abstract
The paper deals with Callimachus, Aitia, fr. 1.11-12. In the scholion Londiniense (P.Lond. Lit. 181) at line 11 Bastianini read αι μεγαλ() with an overwritten μεγα[. I suppose the whole word was written over, in order to clarify that the abbreviated word was not the simple μεγάλαι, but μεγαλεῖαι. At the beginning of line 12, the best supplement is ἀδόνες (= ἀηδόνες): Mimnermus’ “magnificent nightingales” are, of course, his elegies.
