Abstract

In this article, by the translator’s point of view, we face the Italian translation of some Pedro Salinas’ poems from his love “trilogy” (La voz a ti debida; Razón de amor; Largo lamento). In particular, the theme of separation, that the poet lives in a traumatic way, in his poetry creates a specific language of deprivation. Also in the Italian version the translator uses this peculiar linguistic and stylistic code, and, from a part, with a source-oriented approach, he is very loyal to the original poem; from another, on the target side, recurring to different strategies, he creates a new writing able to evoke a similar atmosphere also in the context in and for which the text is translated.
