Abstract

The present-day revival of the religious Christian discourse in Russian language urges university teachers of Russian language and literature to recall and enlighten from a comparative point of view the common Christian lexical heritage of European languages of culture. The article suggests effective didactic ways to approach fundamental texts of Christianity, such as the Pater noster, the Decalogue, the Sermon of Beatitudes, as well as pan-European biblical expressions (mainly from Psalms and Gospel) in Italian Faculties of Humanities. Particular attention is devoted to the significance of iconostasis and the order of the Twelve Feasts: the principal Christian holidays are common in the liturgical calendar of Russian Orthodox Church and Roman Catholic Church.
