Abstract

This contribution explores the relationship between conservation practices aimed at ensuring the transmission of the Glauco Gresleri’s legacy, using as a case study the Church of the Beata Vergine Immacolata (BVI) in Bologna, included in the catalogue Censimento delle architetture dal 1945 ad oggi promoted by the Ministry of Culture, as a significant milestone in the ecclesiastical architecture, being the first example built according to the Lercaro-inspired principles of new experimental liturgical actions. Through direct and indirect investigation, the collection of oral sources, and the study of the relationship between the BVI and its community, a Conservation Management Plan is currently being developed. At present, the condition of the building – particularly the exposed concrete elements – requires the planning of diagnostic investigations and analyses in order to design a conservation intervention that is appropriate to the value of the work and the cultural meanings attributed to it.
