Abstract
This article embeds the thirty year old history of «L’Homme. Europäische Zeitschrift für Feministische Geschichtswissenschaft» / «L’Homme. European Journal of Feminist History», initiated by the well-known Austrian historian Edith Saurer in 1990, within the broader frame of similar journal founded in the 1990’s. It then explains the choice of the title «L’Homme» and describes the changing concept, aims and contents of the journal, which not only includes historical articles (often translated from other European languages) but also comments on contemporary issues of feminism, and debates on gender inequality. The journal and its accompanying book series, «L’Homme Schriften», are currently edited by 18 scholars from 8 European countries – thus indeed representing a common European publication project.
