Abstract

This paper shares a novel educational programme that is attempting to detect and nurture emerging transdisciplinary fields of creative production, and stage architectural education as a holistic environment for initiating new forms of practice. Its experimental pedagogy uses physical and virtual prototyping to build and critically examine future applications and socio-spatial implications of emerging technologies. This article contextualises the development of a transdisciplinary programme in relation to the field of media art. It presents our approach to building a transdisciplinary course and the preliminary results of a programme now entering its third year.
