Abstract
Regarding the polycrisis of the inner and marginal landscapes of Italy and in the broader context of an increasingly complex housing emergency, the paradigm of temporality in the post-emergency context is investigated here. With an interdisciplinary and transcalar approach, the contribution proposes a time-based design for the project of emergency housing in response to the post-earthquake “reconstruction risk”. In this respect, going beyond the concept of temporality, the prototype resulting from the research is intended as an “on-site store”. In order to interpret the emergency as an opportunity for renewal and the temporary heritage as permanent capital, the proposed design, process and product innovations exploit the potential of information modelling and cold-formed steel components.
