Abstract

The peri-urban agricultural landscape has a potential social value linked to the use of agricultural areas, as well as an agricultural-productive value. Multifunctionality has become fundamental in the sustainable management of urban and peri-urban agricultural areas. The paper describes the application of a decision-making support tool, based on a multi-methodological approach, for concerted management policies (Public bodies/farmers) in peri-urban agricultural areas. Three principles guide the proposal: Conservation of the historical landscape as heritage; Valorization of the social potentials of the landscape in the peri-urban context; Sustainable management, with a public-private partnership perspective.
