Abstract
Several writers connected to the journal «La Voce» played a significant role in Fortini’s formation and intellectual trajectory. While many scholars have acknowledged the importance of this influence, none has so far undertaken a systematic study of its articulations. This article aims to bridge this gap by revisiting the key points of this relationship and highlighting how it changed over time. In particular, this essay focuses on a very important but until now little-known moment in Fortini’s scholarly career, namely the lectures he gave at the University of Siena in the academic year 1972–1973, by drawing upon unpublished materials in order to reconstruct the course contents. On this occasion, Fortini further elaborated on his previous reflections on the «Voce» experience and made a series of important considerations on both the “vociani” group and its individual protagonists, which would constitute the basis of his later critical works.
