Abstract
Apart for some renowned and well-known shared experiences, the entire career of Alessandro Minali (1888-1960) is still to be traced and deepened. Named among the others ‘urbanisti’ who firstly afford, in Milan, such a kind of studies during the Thirties, he is usually shadowed by the brilliant profile of the colleagues also working around the figure of Monneret de Villard, first, and then Giuseppe De Finetti. Despite this, a continuing activity in many fields of architecture, from 1914 to 1960, brings him to face the dissonant issues offered by political and economic, social and cultural new perspectives. His rescued archive, even if partially and non-intentionally transmitted, allows not only to order his biography and to collect a larger set of works; it also suggests putting his name beyond the boundaries of frames and the exhausted lecture based on opposite positions, to trace his personal path across the XX century.
