Abstract
The Naples Business District, located in the eastern part of the city, has been a rather controversial experience since its conception and subsequent construction, between the early 1980s and 1990s, designed by Kenzo Tange, due to the intensive nature of the intervention. Today, more than forty years after its realization, the settlement constitutes an architectural and urban planning problem, which the city of Naples cannot ignore, both in light of what has already been built and of the current state of decay and abandonment of public spaces and architectures, which has worsened after the pandemic, due to a progressive emptying of functions. At the same time, this architectural production of the second half of the twentieth century is now included in a process of historicization and critical analysis, generating a new heritage dimension that makes desirable preservation actions and restoration interventions, aware of the existing values.
