Abstract
This contribution presents the national “Survey of Italian Architecture from 1945 to the present”, with a focus on Lombardy (730 works selected). The project, launched by the Ministry of Culture with Regione Lombardia and the Politecnico Milano (scientific direction F. Irace and M. Boriani, coordination G. L. Ciagà), has been recently updated and is now accessible online (https://censimentoarchitetturecontemporanee.cultura.gov.it/). The case study concerns Bergamo, where 46 buildings and neighbourhoods included in the survey were incorporated into the new Urban Master Plan under the category of “high landscape sensitivity”, following an observation submitted by Italia Nostra and the local Chamber of Architects and approved by the City Council. This represents the first urban and administrative recognition in Italy specifically concerning the works selected within the national survey, acknowledging their architectural and cultural value beyond Legislative Decree 42/2004 and guiding maintenance, reuse and urban regeneration in a coherent way.
