Giulia Baselica is a Slavic studies researcher at the University of Turin and has taught in various Italian universities. In her writings, she deals with Russian literature, in particular with the period between the late 19th and early 20th century; with Russian culture, travel writing, comparative literature, translation history and criticism. She has published numerous articles and contributions in these research areas as well as a monograph entitled, Le parole della religione come metafora del mondo. Osservazioni sulla poetica achmatoviana (The Words of Religion as a Metaphor for the World. Observations on Achmatovian Poetics, Campanotto, 2005). She is a member of the editorial staff of the journals “Bollettino del CIRVI”, “Studi comparatistici”, and “Tradurre. Pratiche, Teorie, Strumenti”.
