Abstract

Artificial Intelligence’s (AI) impact is already visible in several aspects of our life: when we ask for a car insurance, when we consult the weather forecast or when we plan the best route on a car trip, we are actually using AI tools. Jobs are also being affected in many fields, and studies predict AI’s dramatic impact will be clear in the near future. The present study analyses the application of AI to architecture by reviewing the most recent achievements in the automation of architectural design. The study then adapts existent methodologies to predict AI’s impact on the work-related activities carried out by architects. The results show that some disciplines will experience a massive impact of AI technologies with the need to adapt the way architects are trained at universities.
