Abstract

For decades now, we have been observing the emergence, affirmation and spread of new sensibilities and new conservative approaches towards the environment. This happens in all productive sectors, as well as in the fields of knowledge, politics and civil society. In such a scenario, the build ing sector is often called into question, remembering its centrality in the anthropisation processes of the territory and its responsibilities regarding the impacts induced on our habitat. At the same time, however, it often takes on the appearance of a stone guest in the debates where the strategies and directions of the implementation policies at international, community and national level are outlined. A decidedly uncomfortable position that, by discounting endemic backwardness and little propensity for innovation and change, contributes to the configuration of its strongly dichotomous character.
