Abstract

Italian hospitals are adopting the private-sector approach, which means that they tend to work towards improving their service offerings and rationalizing health-care spending by introducing new organizational models for the management and control of "non-healthcare" activities, outsourcing them to specialized subjects if need be. This paper identifies four solutions that correspond to different organizational models for service management on the basis of progressive outsourcing levels/degrees. The proposed models are analyzed according to the SWOT Analysis logics that evaluates the Strengths, the Weaknesses, the Opportunities and the Threats of a project or for an organization.
