Abstract

The paper considers the implications that parametric and algorithmic tools have on the innovation of the design practice. An explicit approach to project design is considered with the aim of providing a new interpretative key and possible directions for future development of new tools and design conceptions. A brief reflection contextualises the matter in the literature to support an innovative conception of digital implications on the design practice focused on a classification of digital eras, which is both theoretical and supported by simple application examples. The described theoretical and methodological approach identifies three main implication areas of digital technologies in the technological design practice.
