Abstract
Starting from some interview data, emerging from a research project having as his object the “second-generation” parents residing in the territory of Padua, the contribution intends to know what the faces of paternity that these fathers, “came from far”, reveal. The purpose is to open spaces for reflection on “autochthonous parenthood”, seen through the eyes of the other. What of the Italian fathers does strike the other’s gaze? What does this gaze return to our eyes about the way of being father, here in Italy, today? Lastly, we will try to highlight some possible pedagogical implications to promote a training to paternity, today, in the present plural and multicultural contexts.
