Abstract

The youth is characterized as the most delicate and complex season of the entire existence, placed between adolescence and adult life. At this age rebellion and rejection movements appear. This is a rejection against the society on which the subject, even unconsciously, projects the image of his next and often unwanted adult age. To undertake the path of education is notoriously the noblest and the most complex mission that a man can choose. These are the pedagogical preconditions to save the youth from the nihilism of non-sense, from existential emptiness, from the conforming dynamics of globalization. In this delicate transit age, the father has an educational mission, and a fundamental, and inevitable, role. Although the cultural transformations that animate our time resize and transform the paternal image, this one always remains a model and an example to follow, which continually stimulates, inspires, teaches, sometimes admonishes, the child to grow and emancipate himself, by acquiring, foremost, consciousness of its own inner reality through the conquest of those peculiar characteristics that define his/her own identity.
