Il padre: dalla società verticale alla società orizzontale

Abstract

During the last century, the Italian family and, more generally, the Western one, has been interested by a rapid transition from a nuclear model and traditionally circumscribed, to a wider family conception, in a continuous change. The roles and functions of its members have been deeply transformed, involving all subjects, but in particular the figure of the father and today it is possible to talk about a paternal revolution that makes the father’s figure changing, from the more consolidated and traditional images that crossed centuries.
