Abstract

This paper is a reflection through a disciplinary hybridization offered by the anthropo- logical perspective on the educational practices based on violence. In particular, the use of the socio-anthropological concept of “structural violence” is suggested, in order to claim that the use of punishment and violence in educational relationship, taking shape both in the family and in the school environment, is attributable not only to individual but also to social organization jointly responsible. In order to design effective education- al interventions, and to develop the person, and society, the need for careful analysis and reflection on the cultural reasons underlying the educational violence therefore emerges.
